Our client is seeking a Sales Manager to work with senior sales management to sell and implement sponsorship and advertising programs. The ideal candidate will have one of two types of background: They have been an online media buyer or have created and sold sponsorships and online advertising. In either case, they should have demonstrated strong initiative and leadership, preferably in startup environment, to gain new partnerships and make them profitable for all parties. The candidate must be a self- starter who can effectively translate their in-depth understanding of social media into sales strategies. Candidate will also be responsible for implementing and managing emerging methods of online monetization. This is a unique opportunity to take a leadership role in a rapidly growing company. Their responsibilities will include:
• Identify new sponsorship and advertising partners
• Create, develop, maintain and build strong client relationships
• Develop and implement a sponsorship sales program
• Develop and implement online advertising programs
• Measure and analyze overall program success
• Invent new and imaginative ways to offer our client’s media opportunities to the market
• Create sales presentations
• Participate in market research activities
Qualifications
• 3+ years experience in advertising sales, preferably for a content-based web property
• Deep understanding of "how things work" in the world of online advertising, advertising networks, and sponsorships.
• Demonstrated ability to present and communicate well , both in person and in written materials
• Proven capability to access and build relationships in large corporate organization
• Driven and passionate self-starter, able to execute and deliver with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to call into new corporate partners, online advertising networks and other sponsors where our client does not have a relationship
• Analytic skills to assess the revenue and profitability of sponsorship programs
• Robust knowledge of online research methods and third party research tools
• Active user of social media tools strongly preferred
