SAP ABAP Developer
This technical position will be part of SAP Technical services within the overall SAP Team at Genentech.

Job Description:
The SAP Developer with expertise in developing applications with SAP ABAP ;tools will provide technical expertise and consulting on SAP development for SD and MM areas for the functional staff. The resource in this position will work with SAP Teams consisting of Functional, Technical, Basis and BI to ;deliver requested functionality for application customization, production monitoring, and tuning as needed. This developer will deliver technical ;design specifications based on functional input from the business, and help ;coordinate the delivery of these solutions. The developer will work to provide ;updates to management and coordinate work with offshore development team.

Responsibilities:
The position will be primarily responsible for providing business and application support of the production environment and development of the business critical projects
The developer will be responsible for performing the analysis and design associated with new requirements and will collaborate with the functional teams to create specifications.
Interpretation of functional requirements and development of ABAP programs according to specifications. Programs to be developed include, but are not limited to, the following: conversions, reports, forms, enhancements, and interfaces.
This role will also work closely with the SQA group to ensure that all enhancements are implemented in a quality manner and are compliant with internal and external audit requirements/FDA regulations.
Develop and deploy SAP interfaces with external enterprise systems
Development, execution, and documentation of unit test procedures
Assist in system, integration, performance and user acceptance testing
Thorough understanding of ABAP Workbench tools such as ABAP Dictionary, ABAP Editor, Area Menus, SAP Script, Function Builder, Transactions, and Business Object Builder.
Previous experience with the following SAP ABAP technical areas: Reporting (conventional and interactive), Userexits, BDC and Call-Transaction, Interfaces including ALE, IDOC, and BAPI, Module Pool (on-line dialog), SAPScript and Smart-Forms, Object Oriented ABAP, and Business Add-Ins
Experience and knowledge of SAP's Netweaver enterprise portals is desirable
Requirements:

Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience developing SAP RICEFW objects implementing various SAP modules with particular focus on the Logistics area
SAP ABAP certification preferred by not a must for the right candidate
Thorough knowledge of technologies including ABAP and Java J2EE stacks with real life experience working with at least 3 of the following: BSP, Web Dynpro Abap, ABAP Objects, Web Dynro Java, Java, Workflow, iPhone application development, ITS, Visual Composer
Extensive experience integrating non-SAP legacy application systems with SAP to optimize business processes is a must
Experience with other programming languages, such as C, C++, Java, object-oriented programming, XML, HTML and UNIX Shell will be a real benefit.
Proven skills in relationship building, customer-focus, decision-making, and problem solving
Excellent communication skills
Ability to quickly produce clearly written, well-organized documentation
Experience in onsite  offshore model a plus
Experience with validated or controlled IT environments a plus
EDUCATION: BS in Computer Science, Business, or related discipline
