The Functional Lead oversees the holistic design of our new project implementation. This position is critical to ensure that the proposed design satisfies all corporate business requirements for accounting and reporting. This person will be the subject matter expert for the corporate design of this project. The role is responsible for understanding, identifying and documenting requirements of our corporate stakeholders. He/she defines current and future operational scenarios, communicating with the client, Development, QA, Executive and the 3rd party service provider team(s) to ensure proper translation of business requirements to application requirements and delivery. This position will work closely with peers within the project to ensure the design is accurately built, tested and moved to Production.
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
Contributes to the synthesized view of the overall Business Process Solution by overseeing a design team that is chartered with building a solution that protects corporate existing investments in existing technologies. Conducts functional impact analysis for new capabilities and for changes to existing capabilities. Evaluates and prioritizes process improvements.
Defines and documents process and functional business requirements. Assist or creates the Business Blueprint process design. Reviews how the application supports the business process. Reviews functional design prototypes and specifications. Ensures process designs include process measurement KPIs and who owns each KPI (Business User or IT).
Develops the business scenarios for testing, and reviews and approves Test Plans with a focus on Integration, Regression and User Acceptance testing. Vets user enhancement requests with supervisor to ensure validity. Audits the business process after implementation to ensure it is operating as designed. Reviews dashboards to monitor process and end user productivity.
Qualifications/Skills
Basic Qualifications:
* Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field required.
* MBA Preferred.
Desired Experience:
* 6 - 8 years progressive experience in the IT sector, including progressive experience in the management of full cycle ERP projects.
* Hands-on, working knowledge/problem solving skills related to one or more ERP functional work streams such as: Finance and Accounting, Order-to-Cash, Purchase-to-Pay, Supply Chain Execution, etc.
* Minimum 4 years in a functional lead role working with key clients, or related experience.
* Demonstrate the ability to successfully lead a project team.
* Strong understanding of systems development lifecycle and system implementation methodologies.
* Prior experience in dealing with an off-shore development model.
Desired Technical Skills:
* Active engagement in multiple SAP/ERP projects.
* Strong background in Finance & Accounting.
* Knowledge of assigned business process (subject matter expert).
* Knowledge of the software application(s) that support(s) the business process.
* Requirements definition and realization.
* Business process design and modeling.
* Business process reengineering.
* Application design experience.
